Position- Course Superintendent, Terrace Bluff Golf Club, Gladstone MI.
Course operation- 18 holes covering 150 acres. Built in 1970. Ted Locke, designer. Open to the public with a membership base. Groundscrew staff of 8 full and part time. Jacobsen and Toro equipment. Irrigation – Toro heads with Rainbird Controller
Starting Date: March 1, 2026, Flexible
Salary: $ 55K – 80K annually, year around. Based on experience.
Job Description: Personnel management, participate in hiring and firing of golf course staff and daily supervision of job assignments, performance and development. Prioritize daily tasks and incorporate projects during down time to ensure peak conditions. Oversee and participate in daily care and maintenance of golf course and clubhouse areas to include but not limited to pest control, fertilization, spraying of fungicides/pesticides etc. Oversee equipment tech to ensure daily maintenance and inspection of all equipment and tools related to the golf course operations. Oversee equipment tech to schedule equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repair along with reel grinding during the off season. Oversee watering system programs and execution. Administrative duties to include but not limited to purchasing, inventory control, ensure safety procedures and controls are implemented and followed. Clean background check, good work ethic and a flexible work schedule a must.
Responsible to: General Manager/Owner
Job requirements: Associates degree in horticulture, turf management, agronomy or related field. Bachelors’ degree preferred. Consideration given for 3-5 years of experience as 1st assistant. Min. 5 years of experience in golf course maintenance. State pesticide applicators license in hand or must be obtained within 30 days. Equipment maintenance helpful.

Comments: We are seeking a replacement for the outgoing super who is retiring after 30+ yrs with the company. 2026 would be a transition out while the new super would transition in. The golf course is centrally located in the beautiful U.P. of Michigan on Little Bay De Noc between Escanaba and Gladstone. The beauty and 4 seasons of the Upper Peninsula provides many options for recreation for the outdoor enthusiast. The course plays to 6800 yards with generous tree lined fairways. We are a membership based operation which is also open to public play on a daily basis with annual rounds of 18,000-20,000. Irrigation system and pump stations new in 2006-2007.
